Bernard A. Gilhooly Award

Each year the Irish Heritage Day Committee presents the Bernard A. Gilhooly Award to someone who emulates the undying persistence of the Irish people by “passing on” Irish culture in the Quad Cities and its outlying areas. Nomination letters of 150 words or less are being requested by March 1,  2008. Please note: Gilhooly Award candidates must be in the Quad Cities on Grand Parade Weekend (March 14 - 16, 2008).

A three-person panel will judge entries. Nominee will be recognized at Irish Heritage Day. Please mail letters to St. Patrick Society, PO Box 4487 Davenport, IA 52808.

Winners receive a bronze statuette of Annie Moore, first immigrant registered through Ellis Island, and a certificate of recognition.
